What is the Soul Urge number?+
The Soul Urge (sometimes called the Heart's Desire) is drawn from the vowels of the full name. While the Destiny describes the mission encoded in the name and the Personality describes how the world reads you, the Soul Urge describes what the heart truly wants. It is the inner fire beneath the public face.
How is it calculated?+
Each vowel of the full name (A, E, I, O, U) corresponds to a digit. Sum every vowel, then reduce by adding digits until you arrive at a single digit, unless you stop at 11, 22, or 33. The letter Y is treated as a vowel only when no adjacent letter is a vowel.
How does it differ from the Destiny number?+
Destiny is the sum of every letter; Soul Urge is only the vowels. The two numbers can point in completely different directions, which is where a reading becomes interesting. A bearer whose Destiny is the builder (4) but whose Soul Urge is the wanderer (5) carries real tension. Reading them together is part of the craft.
Should I use the legal name or a nickname?+
The full legal name on the birth certificate is the primary chart. A consistently-used nickname carries its own secondary chart over time. Most numerologists run both and read them together.
